Happy 40th anniversery!

This past weekend marked a few anniverseries of famous events in American history. Both of them are 40th anniverseries, in fact.
The first is the famous moon landing.
The second is the murder of Mary Jo Kopechne. You remember the stories, Ted Kennedy drove off the Chappaquiddick bridge, got himself out, and went home. Yeah, he did report the accident to the police. 8 hours later. Oh yeah, he forgot Mary Jo was inside the car. She never made it out.
8 hours is about enough time to go through a good drunk. Old Teddie was no doubt drunk as a skunk when he drove off the bridge, barely got himself out, let alone Mary Jo. He waited till he was sober before he called the police. All he ever got was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. It should have been murder, but money and political power can do strange things to the justice system.

Both sides against the middle

Two years ago, the only thing you heard in the media was illegal immigration. Now, you never hear of it unless some drunk illegal without a drivers license runs a red light and kills a busload of orphans. Next day, the story disappears. Why?
The Democrats say that Republicans are for open borders and work visas because they are in the pocket of big business, and big business wants cheap labor. Okay, I can buy into that.
Republicans say that Democrats want open borders and amnesty so they can boost their Democratic voter base. Yeah, that makes sense to me too.
Who is right and who is wrong? Yes.
My take on this situation, and we're not just talking about illegal immigrants, but most stuff that the DC politicians ram down our throats, is that both sides are in cahoots with each other and use party lines to divide and conquer. Ask any 10 people you know about illegal immigration. Hell, ask 100 or 1000. I am pretty sure you will get an overwhelming majority that will be for closing the borders and exporting our number one product, illegal immigrants. It's one of those "Duh!" topics. Like the answer is so damned obvious that its a wonder why DC never gets anything done about it.
So just why doesn't DC do anything about this subject? I am not a member of the tin foil hat brigade, I feel that the simple answer is usually the best, and conspiracies are pretty much only active in the minds of the paranoid wierdos. But there is more here that meets the eye. The politicians in Washington DC don't so anything about the illegal immigration problem because they don't want to do anything about it.
Why? For whatever reasons, they feel it is in their best interests to let this problem happen. And I mean "their best interests", not the country's interests. Politicians are worried about one thing: their next election. That's it. Once elected, they shuck and jive, use smoke and mirrors, and fuck the country. It's kind of like pro-wrestling. All work, never a shoot, and they "raise heat" to build the next payday/main event/election.
America needs to wake up and impose some term limits on these worthless bastards. The politicians will never vote for term limits, so we the people need to make this happen by never voting for the same candidate twice. After one or two election cycles, maybe the politicians will start paying closer attention to the people who hired them.

Government health care

President 0bama wants to make national health care quite the priority. He is using his typical scare tactics, saying that we must pass this now or else the sky will fall, the sun will burn out and all our puppies will die.
Who will pay for this 1.5 trillion dollar fiasco? Yeah, we all know who. Us.
Can anyone please answer any government program that is more efficient or costs less than any privately run program? I will give you the military, but only because private armies are illegal in the USA. Government has no competition there. Look at any, and I mean any, federal government program or office. The "rule books" they use is staggeringly huge. Take the tax code as an example. A relatively simple concept, every person and business pays taxes for the federal government, is over 9000 pages of regulations. Do we really think health care will be some easy to navigate process that will benefit us, or strangle us in red tape?
If this nationalized health care passes, the first patient to die will be the US taxpayer.

Some email wisdom: Obama outsourced

Washington, DC -- July 2nd, 2009

Congress today announced that the office of President of the United
States of America will be outsourced to India as of September 1, 2009.

The move is being made in order to save the President's $500,000 yearly
salary, and also a record $750 billion in deficit expenditures and
related overhead that his office has incurred during the last 3 months.

It is anticipated that $7 trillion can be saved to the end of the
President's term. "We believe this is a wise financial move. The cost
savings are huge," stated Congressman Thomas Reynolds (R-WA). "We cannot
remain competitive on the world stage with the current level of cash
outlay," Reynolds noted.

Obama was informed by email this morning of his termination.
Preparations for the job move have been underway for some time.

Gurvinder Singh, a tele-technician for Indus Teleservices, Mumbai India,
will assume the office of President as of September 1, 2009. Mr. Singh
was born in the United States while his Indian parents were vacationing
at Niagara Falls, NY, thus making him eligible for the position. He will
receive a salary of $320 (USD) a month, but no health coverage or other
benefits.

It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job
responsibilities without a support staff. Due to the time difference
between the US and India, he will be working primarily at night.
"Working nights will allow me to keep my day job at the Dell Computer
call center," stated Mr. Singh in an exclusive interview.
"I am excited about this position. I always hoped I would be President."
A Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be
fully aware of all the issues involved in the office of President, this should
not be a problem as Obama had never been familiar with the issues either.

Mr. Singh will rely upon a script tree that will enable him to respond
effectively to most topics of concern. Using these canned responses, he
can address common concerns without having to understand the underlying
issue at all. "We know these scripting tools work," stated the
spokesperson. "Obama has used them successfully for years, with the result that some
people actually thought he knew what he was talking about."

Obama will receive health coverage, expenses, and salary until his final
day of employment. Following a two-week waiting period, he will be
eligible for $140 a week unemployment for 26 weeks. Unfortunately he
will not be eligible for Medicaid, as his unemployment benefits will
exceed the allowed limit.

Obama has been provided with the outplacement services of Manpower, Inc.
to help him write a resume and prepare for his upcoming job transition.
According to Manpower, Obama may have difficulties in securing a new
position due to a lack of any successful work experience during his
lifetime.

A greeter position at Wal-Mart was suggested due to Obama's extensive
experience at shaking hands, as well as his special smile.

Obama will keep innocent detainees

"WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration said Tuesday it could continue to imprison non-U.S. citizens indefinitely even if they have been acquitted of terrorism charges by a U.S. military commission.

Jeh Johnson, the Defense Department's chief lawyer, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that releasing a detainee who has been tried and found not guilty was a policy decision that officials would make based on their estimate of whether the prisoner posed a future threat." Fox News

Really? Where is the outrage from the liberals and leftist democrats that protested when Bush has this policy? Will the press slam 0bama incessantly for this policy? It is interesting to see if the President gets still yet another free pass from the liberal press for his policies.
For those who voted for 0bama, is this the change you voted for?

Colin Powell - hypocrite.

Retired General Colin Powell was interviewed by CNN and the interview will air on Sunday, July 5th. Powell elaborates how he is concerned with Obama's spending. He feels the government spending is out of control and we need to reverse what is happening. He feels Obama needs to take a hard look at the cost of all this spending.

Really? Powell was and still is, supposedly a Republican. He broke party ranks and endorsed Obama for president. Now, If you had read my works at all, you know I have no love for the party system, and anyone is free to endorse anyone he or she chooses. But didn't Powell realize Obama's spending plans back when he endorsed him? Obama never made a secret about how he wanted to increase government, spending and entitlements.
That's a main reason I did not vote for him. I believe in smaller government. Why did Powell endorse Obama then? If he truly felt as he said when he endorsed Obama, that the Republican party abandoned their ideals, then why endorse someone he KNEW would increase government if he never believed in that?

Happy Independence Day, America!

It's not "Happy July 4th". It's "Happy Independence Day".
July 4th is when the United States of America celebrates its hard won victory for independence, free from the tyrannical rule from Great Britain. Back then, we were a colony who got fed up with oppressive taxation without representation. Peaceful redress was ignored by the King of England, and our forefathers decided that they would have to declare their independence. We had to fight for it, on many battlefields, but we finally won and became captains of our own destiny.
How far we have come, yet how much we have returned to a people who are getting taxed without our leaders in Washington DC listening to the people.

Sarah Palin quits governorship

Sarah Palin announced today that she is leaving the post of Governor of Alaska. Interesting turn of events. Some will criticize her for quitting, saying she should have to "tough it out" in a mans world of politics. Sarah has commented that she is tired of the political blood sport. I don't blame her. Ever since she has reached the national spotlight by accepting John McCain's spot as VP candidate, she has been constantly and relentlessly attacked for the most minor of details. Anything to try to tarnish her credibility, because the liberal press is afraid of her. Afraid she will emerge as the GOP candidate for President in 2012. Her family has been attacked, her ethics, she has even been blamed for the GOP spending $150,000 on her wardrobe. She is sick of it. To her, her family comes first and she is to be commended and respected for it. She certainly does not play politics as usual, unlike others who make the same battle cry and do more of the same old dirty game. She means what she says and says what she means. Her breed is too far and few between, indeed.
What are her future plans? Will she retire from public service? Will she run for president? Only time will tell. The only thing certain for now is that she is a straight-shooter, she does not play the same old political game.
Whatever she chooses, I wish her and her family the best.

Should the fed gov't bailout California?

Looks like California is ready to issue IOU's instead of money. Barney Frank is one politician who advocates using TARP money to bailout the state. What do you think? I say hell NO! Months ago, I said the same thing about the auto companies. 70 billion, IIRC, went to GM and Chrysler. Guess what? BOTH of them are in bankruptcy court as I write this. That 70 billion was fucking WASTED by the government.
Why isn't the press making an issue out of this irresponsible government waste? The more they ignore this, the bolder government gets with OUR money. Its a crime, I tell you.

Get ready for 10% unemployment

Press Secretary Gibbs just said that they expect the unemployment rate to hit 10%. Wow. Thank 0bama for that 787 billion stimulus package. If the government didn't pass that bill, unemployment would be at least 52,000,000%! Isn't this proof positive that out of control deficit spending doesn't work? All it does is appease the pork monsters in Congress.
We were told that the stimulus bill would have immediate effects. Sure. Sure it would. We were also told that without the stimulus bill, the unemployment rate would cap at 8%. Maybe I should ask 0bama to come with me to Las Vegas, I am sure he can help me with his clairvoyant skills to count some cards or throw some lucky dice rolls. Hell, I'll even split my winnings with him.
I hope that people start realizing that bigger government is the problem, not the solution.
