David Letterman made some pretty nasty "jokes" about Sarah Palin and her daughter, who is 14.
Has he crossed the line? Were the jokes crude? Again, I say yes. Remember not too long ago the flak that Don Imus caught over the "nappy headed hoes" remark. He lost his job. Do I agree with it? No. But when the shoe is on the other foot, the liberal press ignores the remarks, trivializes them, or laughs about it and tells the Palin family to get over it.
Well, maybe they shouldn't get over it. Maybe Letterman needs to lose his job over his disgusting remarks. Is it really funny when you say that a 14 year old girl got knocked up by a baseball player? Or that the Governor of Alaska dresses like a slutty flight attendent?
I could even say that the remarks about Sarah Palin were within the realm of decency, but a 14 year old girl? Would it be funny if we cracked jokes about Lettermans family?

ReplyDeleteNo... he is a comedian... talking shit about celebrities IS his JOB.
ReplyDeleteThat would be like firing a cop for arresting a criminal.
So you're saying that comedians have no limits? What about Don Imus?
ReplyDeleteFreedom of Speech baby.
ReplyDeleteAnybody should be allowed so say anything. If his particular employer has rules and regulations... thats one thing, but just because somebody got their feelings hurt.
Please, grow the fuck up.
Sticks and Stone.
"IF" the liberal media believed in the "sticks and stones" theory, I would absolutely think the same thing. However, they don't, so I subscribe to the "Whats good for the goose is good for the gander" model.
